Frequently Asked Questions
Claydon Courtyard and Phoenix Kitchen are open daily (except Thursdays), between 10am-5pm. We recommend you check with individual Courtyard businesses and the National Trust Claydon House for their opening times.
The address for Claydon Courtyard, the Phoenix Kitchen and Courtyard businesses is:
Middle Claydon, near Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, MK18 2EY.
Directions: If you are travelling by road, follow the National Trust signs for Claydon House. From the M40 junction 9, follow A41, turn off to Grendon Underwood and Calvert, signposted from Calvert Crossroads. Signposted from A413 (Buckingham) and A41 (Waddesdon crossroads).
If you are visiting our Estate Office, please use postcode MK18 2EX for directions, and this will take you to the South Lodge entrance, off Calvert Road.
Parking is free for visitors to Claydon Courtyard.
There are public rights of way across the estate, and we ask that you keep dogs on leads and always follow the Countryside Code:

- Protect the environment
- Enjoy the countryside
The National Cycle Network route 51 goes past our main entrance and cyclists often find the Phoenix Kitchen to be a welcome stop off, enjoying something to eat and drink before heading off on their ride.
Cyclists can cycle up the main drive and are required to dismount before entering Claydon Courtyard. Please note, we do not currently have cycle racks.
Dogs on leads are very welcome in Claydon Courtyard, the Phoenix Kitchen and many of our independent businesses. The Phoenix Kitchen always has dog bowls with water and treats for our canine friends!
We kindly ask that you keep your dogs on leads while walking on the public rights of way that cross the estate and parkland.
Horse riders can enjoy riding on the public bridleways crossing Claydon Estate. The routes are clearly marked with signs, and please be considerate of other visitors, dog walkers and livestock grazing in the parkland.
If you are visiting with young children, we have plenty of open space at Claydon Courtyard, and the Phoenix Kitchen offers a children’s menu, baby food warming facility, high-chairs, and a toddler playpen. There’s also Florence Nightingale’s carriage and a lovely old fire engine to discover.
Yes, we have a wide and diverse range of fields, woodland, parkland, and walled gardens available to hire for private, corporate, and public events, as well as commercial photography and filming. Please contact our events team for further information: [email protected].
Unless written permission is granted by Claydon Estate, drones are not permitted anywhere within Claydon Estate, and photographs and video must be for personal (not commercial) use only.
