Within Middle Claydon village are four Almshouses, owned by the Almshouse Charity of Sir Ralph Verney, which was established in the 1600s to help individuals, resident in the parish of Middle Claydon, in need of accommodation.
Each Almshouse has a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room and access to outside space. They are now managed by Claydon Estate on behalf of the charity.
