Towersey Festival – 27-30 August 2021

The quick guide to Towersey Festival with Joe Heap

Describe Towersey Festival in 3 words.

Another Lovelier World.

How did Towersey Festival begin?

My Grandad and some friends started the event back in 1965 in the village of Towersey on the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire Border. It started as a community event which, to this day, it still very much is.

What’s so special about Towersey Festival?

It is so very friendly and easy going. It’s the perfect first timer’s festival, but also has people who have been coming for 40 years! It is one big family with so much more than just music.

Why Claydon Estate?

We fell in love with Claydon the minute we found it. The guys at the estate are so supportive and really want the festival to be there and that is vital to us. Plus, the Phoenix Kitchen’s coffee is the best!

Is it a family event?

Massively. Hundreds of families come year after year, and we have 4 dedicated venues for young people to get stuck into everything from Crafts to Circus.

What’s new this year?

Well, this year could be a bit different (depending on COVID restrictions), but it will still be Towersey Festival. Maybe just a bit smaller and spread out! But in 2022 we will be back to full capacity and hope to have some amazing headliners.

What are you looking forward to most this summer?

Hugging people (hopefully) and being with all our friends at Towersey Festival, at Claydon Estate.

Finally, if Towersey Festival was an ice-cream, what flavour would it be?

Double Chocolate – Everyone’s favourite but double the flavour!
