Meet the Team – Tory Aubrey-Fletcher
We are proud of our team here at Claydon Estate, so we would like to tell you a little more about who we are and what we do …
Name: Tory Aubrey-Fletcher
Job title: Operations Manager
What’s your role at Claydon Estate?
I’m the Operations Manager and have worked on the Estate for over nine years.
My role covers anything and everything! I deal with a variety of tasks such as recruiting staff, overseeing development projects, liaising with contractors & stakeholders, managing our rental properties, which includes finding new tenants and overseeing refurbishment projects. I’m also responsible for the Claydon Courtyard and making sure it’s well maintained as well as overseeing the running of our eatery, The Phoenix Kitchen.
My role is extremely varied, and no day is the same. I have to be prepared to deal with anything that crops up during the day. One minute I could be talking to a contractor and the next minute I could be dealing with something completely unexpected, such as a report of sheep on the roads, and making sure they get back to safety.
Describe your perfect day here!
I enjoy a varied day. I particularly enjoy being out and about, perhaps checking on property renovations or checking on other areas of the estate which may need some improvements or maintenance.
In your role, what are you most looking forward to over the next few months?
I’m definitely looking forward to Towersey Festival.
This will be Towersey’s first festival at Claydon and will take place over the August Bank Holiday. The festival was meant to take place in 2020 but due to Covid the festival has been postponed twice.
We’re currently working on a new office development as well as several residential property projects; I’m looking forward to seeing these progress over the next few months.
What interests/hobbies do you have?
I enjoy my animals which includes dogs, chickens and quail. I also enjoy spending time in the garden.
I’m currently training for “Muddy Dog”, a 5km course which includes all sorts of wet and muddy obstacles. I’ll be taking this on with one of my dogs by my side!
Finally, what’s your favourite film or book, and why?
Without a doubt my favourite film is Black Beauty!
I remember being 12 years old and living on the Estate where the filming took place.
I would walk over and watch the filming for most of the day. I was very much into horses at that age, and I remember it being such a lovely summer!
Still to this day I enjoy watching the film.
