Job Title: Maintenance Manager

What’s your role at Claydon Estate?

I’m the Maintenance Manager for Claydon Estate, a role which covers many different areas. I’m primarily responsible for any maintenance issues which arise within the residential, commercial and farmstead properties on Claydon Estate.

I work closely with Jane, our Property and Estate Administrator. When a job comes in, we’ll assess it and schedule it in accordingly. Any emergencies are addressed immediately.  I address any number of jobs, big or small, from fixing broken taps and changing light bulbs to re-pointing and plastering.

I’m also responsible for refurbishing properties at the end of a tenancy. I’ll inspect the property and assess what works, if any, need doing.  The work may be as simple re-painting, or it could be a whole new kitchen re-fit.

It’s a busy and varied job, no day is the same.

Describe your perfect day here!

I enjoy the challenge of tackling larger jobs, such as laying a terrace or fixing roofs. I do like to start the day nice and early and I particularly enjoy the drive into work as it’s very picturesque around here.

In your role, what are you most looking forward to over the next few months?

We have a couple of properties which are currently being refurbished. I’m looking forward to seeing the completion of these over the next few weeks.

What interests/hobbies do you have?

I enjoy watching most sports. Many years ago, I played Hockey for England, so I still very much enjoy watching a Hockey game!

I also enjoy fishing, particularly coarse fishing, and if I’m not doing this, you’ll most likely find me on the Golf course!

Finally, what’s your favourite film or book, and why?

Without a doubt The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit.
