400 years – 400 trees

The first of our 400 trees are thriving!In 2020 we celebrated the 400th Anniversary since Sir Edmund Verney made Claydon the Verney family home in 1620.To mark this special occasion, we began a project to plant 400 specimen trees at Claydon Estate. The programme of planting will take ten years to complete, and to date we have planted around 40 trees, with the next 40 trees to be planted during the coming autumn and winter.Visitors to Claydon Courtyard can see three of the newly planted trees, a trio of Catalpas, and we hope you may enjoy them now and in the future.Below is a list of some of...
